First Swim of the Season

It has finally been warm for the past few days. Before I picked Olivia up from school I stopped and got her a new swimsuit. On the way home from school she saw it in the bag and kept asking if we could go to the beach. What a wonderful idea, unfortunately no beach near us so we got out her tiny splash pool. The water was freezing, but she did not care, she jumped right in!

Pink Toes and Piggy Tails

Yeah it is finally warm here!  I decided it was time to paint my toes this morning to wear some sandals and it tool Olivia only about 5 seconds to notice. After her asking a few times if she could paint her toes with her paint, I decided it might be best to put a light coat of pink on hers too!

She was so excited and kept asking us to look at her pretty toes :-)

Olivia's First Day of PreSchool

Olivia started preschool today!  What a big girl she has become!

Jeff is starting to work more hours and has been out looking for office space so we decided to ease Olivia into full-time preschool.  She will go 2 full days a week for about a month, then we will add another day every few weeks to get her to full time. Today was her first day and we have been talking with her and telling her about her school and her teachers for the past week. She went on a tour of the school before she started and got to see her classroom and meet her teachers which I think helped. The school is a good one, lots of space indoors and out. They even have a gym that the kids go to each week and also daily on rainy days when they can't go outside.

She was pretty excited to go this morning. We packed up all her stuff and included her beloved BearBear and Bella to go with her. Jeff dropped her off, he said she did great, no tears and was coloring when he left.  When we called to check they said she was having a good time and no melt down!  They had "gym" today so she got to go and run off some energy, which I know she loved!

After a day of  songs, dancing, art projects, snacks, outdoor play and gym and we have one tired girl tonight!  The part Jeff was worried about was nap time, but they said she laid on the cot and rested, she did fall asleep for about 30 minutes, so that is a great start!

Hopefully it goes so well each time we drop her off (I can dream). But we are glad the first day went so smoothly! We knew she was ready to play with other kids and have more variety of activities, so we are sure she will like school!

Here she is this morning right before they left. So cute when you tell her to say "cheese"!

Happy Mother's Day!

Mother's Day... there were some years I thought I may never be a mother.  Some years this day was hard for me since I wanted to be a mom so much, but is was so difficult for us. However, after many years of trying our miracle Olivia joined our family and I can't imagine our life without her.

This is my third Mother's Day and we had a wonderful day!  Olivia (and Jeff) had picked out a beautiful little rose bush for me, which will be planted in my garden. Then we spent the morning and early afternoon at the zoo! My brother and his family joined us. We all had a good time, it didn't rain and the sun even came out for a bit!

Later in the afternoon we went to my parents to say hello to my mom and dad and chat for a bit.

Here are the pictures from today and also a few other I added just because O is too cute!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Everyone!

This was only the 3rd or 4th Easter I can remember not spending at my grandparents house. Easter was one of my granny's favorite holidays and each year growing up (and after we were grown) we would go the my grandparents house for Easter and an egg hunt for the younger ones. Last year we had a wonderful Easter at their house. The weather was beautiful, a wonderfully sunny day and warm. Olivia hunted eggs in the same yard I did for so many years.

This is the first Easter with out my grandparents here. and we decided to have Easter lunch and an egg hunt at our house with my parents, one of my brothers and his family, Jeff's parents, his brother and his sister's family.  We had a great time!

It has been VERY rainy here for the past week and they were calling for rain for most of the day today. But...my granny must have had a hand in the weather today :-) It rained early in the morning and held off for the day so we could have a "dry" egg hunt. Our backyard is a little water logged, so Olivia and a few of the other cousins wore boots for a while.

Here are pictures from our egg hunt.
