Wow, it has been since May that I posted on our blog! June and now the first two weeks of July have flown by. We have had a busy 6 weeks or so. Family in from all around and then our mini vacation with Jeff's family and later in the week to see my brother's family. Olivia is now 18 months and is talking a lot more these days. Mama and Dada are still her favorite words with the exception of "No", which finally crept into her vocabulary :-)
She loves to play outside in her pool and with the hose, we bought her a sprinkler today and will see what she thinks of it probably tomorrow as the temps are supposed to be hot again.
In June Jeff's family was in for the celebration / remembrance for his Grandma Pat and Grandpa Bob. It was nice to see everyone and see how many little ones are now in the family. Jessie and the girls were also in the same week and we took a day trip to the Zoo! I think next year we may get the zoo pass so we can go when ever we want and do smaller trips to spend more time in one area to see the animals. We did get to see the polar bears, moose, lions, and elephants, including a baby but somehow we missed the giraffes! Maybe we will go back in the fall when it is a little cooler to see some more.
For the 4th of July we went to Lake Toxaway in NC with Jeff's family. What a beautiful area, nice and cool in the mountains. Olivia saw her first fireworks and clapped and squealed, in fact we all did! The fireworks that the lake community put on were the BEST we have ever seen! They were amazing!
Since we were in the area we went to the Biltmore House for the "speed tour", it was hot and the house is not climate controlled, so the huge house was a little tiring for our little one, but again she did good and we did get to see the house. Jeff and I may have to go back for a long weekend visit by ourselves to see more of the house and grounds, it is a pretty neat place.
On Monday we went on to see my brother's family. Addi, Chloe and Sam were also visiting so the "six pack" had some more time together. We went swimming in the lake near their house and Olivia did pretty well. She wouldn't swim in her " floaty" but she did like kicking and splashing in my or daddy's arms. She had a lot of late nights the past week and she is catching up on some much needed sleep. She did wonderful in the car for such a long trip and staying in a new place every couple of days. We figure it will take a week or so to get her back in her routine.
I think that has caught us up for now, enjoy some pictures of our growing girl!
