The Beach

Today we all went to a little private beach on the other side of the island. The sun was out and the temperature was perfect, the wind however was another story, it was a bit much for our little babe. We found some shade under some trees on a nice beach chair and sat and watched cousins Riley and Emma with Grandma and Papa play in the ocean. After about an hour we decided it was just to windy for Olivia so we headed back to the house to swim in the pool and relax in the hot tub... ahhh island life! Tomorrow is our last full day on the island, my how the week has flown by.

Hot Tubbin at the Island!

Today was finally a nice day for part of the time, some sun was out and the breeze was warmer. We took Livie to the pool & hot tub today, the pool was a little too cold and she did not like that so Daddy promptly took her to the warm hot tub which she enjoyed! Warm water, bubbles, Daddy's arms, what could be better! She enjoyed it so much she fell asleep.

After hot tubbin' it for a bit it was time for a well deserved nap. She slept in her cabana by the pool while we enjoyed the sun that peaked through the clouds every so often and read our books.

All in all a nice and relaxing day on the island. Stacy, Riley and Emma arrive tonight, which should liven things up a bit!

Island Babe!

Well, we took the first part of our first trip with Olivia on Sunday and she did amazing! She played a bit in the airport and then slept most of the air plane, cab ride and ferry ride. She was glad when we finally made it to the island house. Clean diaper, clean clothes, a little warm milk and some love from Grandma and she is one happy babe!

We were so tired when we finally arrived that we didn't realize until later that night that we actually tried to get Olivia to go to sleep for the night around 7:30 pm, she normally is not down for the night until after 10 pm. No wonder she was looking at us like we were crazy, not crazy, just extremely tired!

We have not taken a lot of pictures yet, still early in the week, but here is one of her with Grandma and also of her napping...she loves the island breezes, they are a little chillier than normal so far, but a little blanket on her and she's down for the count.

The winds are blowing more than normal on the island at this time and there are heavy surf warnings at the beaches so we have not made it to the sand yet, but it's still early in the week.

Check back in few days and we'll have more to tell you about!

Smiles

As I write this our little babe is not smiling, she is having some very fussy periods at night now, she seems to be fighting sleep when Mommy and Daddy are really ready for sleep... but during the day and early evening here are some of the bright eyes and smiles we get!

Grandma & Granpa came over for dinner tonight and Olivia was wide awake this time!

2 inches in 2 Months!

Olivia had her 2 month check-up today. She now weighs 10 lbs, 3.8 ounces & is 22.75 inches long.
She is in the 75th percentile for height & 5oth for weight.

So in 2 months she gained almost 4 lbs and grew over 2 inches!

Grow baby grow! (just not too fast)

Here are some cute random pictures from this week.

Cute in Cashmere!

Olivia is growing like crazy, she is now in some 3 month clothes, and thanks to Aunt Jessie is dressed in some luxurious cashmere!

Today was Grandma Jane' s Birthday so we all went to visit her and took her some lunch. As you will see we also had a "photo shoot", Daddy did a pretty good job!

Jeff and I are savoring these last 4 weeks together before I return to work. It has been nice having us together as a family these first months of Olivia's life.

She is now 8 weeks and her 2 month appointment is this coming Friday. We'll see how much weight she has gained, how long she is, and get her first round of those dreaded shots! Mommy is not looking forward to that!

Olivia is now staying awake more during the day and gets more play time. She did have one day this week where she slept most of the day, I swear the next morning it looked like she had grown from the night before :-)

It is amazing to see how much she changes, our little babe looks so big compared to when we brought her home. Her hair has grown too, it doesn't seem that she has lost any, but the side she lays on the most is a little shorter. As you can see by the pictures it still sticks up everywhere :-)

Happy Valentines Day!

Hard to believe, Olivia is 7 weeks old today!

Here are some pictures from today. Jeff & Livie played together while she was awake this afternoon, she was tuckered out and is now sleeping in my arm (my one handed typing is improving)!

Busy Week

First let me start by saying
"Happy 41st Anniversary Mom & Dad!"

Last week seemed crazy and this week so far is exhausting and it's only Tuesday!

Monday we went on some visits to see Pat Pat and pick up her computer so Jeff could fix it for her. We also stopped by to see Grandma and PaPa and had lunch with them.

Olivia was actually awake for a short portion of these visits and everyone got to see her beautiful big eyes!

Check out her pinkie in the picture with Grandma and PaPa :-)

Tuesday Olivia had her physical therapy appointment, it went well and her neck muscle seems to be loosening. She was a tired little one during the session and slept through most of the stretches. She doesn't seem to really like some of the stretches and would wake slightly to show her disapproval, but our therapist Sheri is excellent with her and would stop the stretch and sooth Olivia before going on. We have done pretty good with keeping up with her stretches at home but could stand some improvement :-) She does like when I hold her head to one side and just massage the muscle, and tummy time with her head turned to the correct side counts too! Thank goodness it counts even when she is asleep!

Wednesday we had her Cardiologist appointment to check on her heart murmur, everything sounded good and she did not need another ultra sound or EKG which was great. We got her weight and she weighed 8 lbs and 10 ounces!

Now we go back when she is 6 months old to check again. If everything sounds good, we go back once a year, either until she is a certain age or until it has disappeared. The cardiologist she goes to at Children's is wonderful!

Thursday, Friday and Saturday we stayed home some, I had a Dr appointment, we ran some errands and tried to catch up on some sleep! Olivia's "schedule" seems to be changing a bit and we are trying to figure it out. She is still up more at night and late night (2 am) than during the day and some mornings she is up around 5:00 am and stays awake for a bit, thanks goodness Daddy takes this "shift" or mommy would be a total zombie.

On Sunday we took Olivia to meet her my mom's mother, also stopped by cousin Addi & Chloe's for lunch with everyone. While at Grandma's we got a picture of four generations which was really nice to see!

Addi went with us while Chloe stayed home to nap.

I love this picture of Olivia with Grandpa.

It looks like he is telling her a secret and she is really listening to see what he has to say!

Sunday night and Monday were crazy!

Until we went to bed on Monday night, Olivia was up every hour from 1 AM on. She must be having a growth spurt, she ate 13 times in 24 hours (her norm is 7 to 8) and took over 24 ounces, about 5 to 6 more than normal. She hardly slept for more than 40 minutes at a time, needless to say we all were pretty tired by the end of the day.

Last night was much better, she took more ounces at each feeding again and slept till her "normal" waking times. We actually all got some rest, we will see how today goes :-) Right now she is sleeping and has been doing so for almost 2 hours!

I think that catches us up for the week!

Here are some cute pics that Jeff took of her early this morning. Love her little feet in the first picture!

And baby makes three!

We finally got a picture of the three of us together, only took us a month or so :)
