Chicken Dinner

Today Olivia had meat for the first time. Chicken was what we decided to try first and as you can see from the pictures below it didn't go over too well. Jeff and I tried it too, and it was very bland and had a strange texture to it, so I think instead of baby food chicken next time we will try to blend some on our own and see if she likes it.

MaMa

Livie finally said Mama! Last night as we were all eating dinner she started saying mama, ma, mama! It was the nicest "music to my ears". This morning she is saying it again so we're off to a great start!

Olivia is 9 months today, she started sitting all by herself this past week. She has been working on this for a while and would do pretty good on her own with Jeff or I behind her to help with the wobbling. Jeff would sit her on the bed in the morning as he got dressed and she would just throw her self back, so we were a little worried about her noggin when she was on the floor :-) This week the wobbles have subsided some and she is now catching herself and not falling over as much. She really enjoys this new perspective of play and interaction and thinks it fun to sit next to Savannah.










































































This weekend our friends Rob and Stacie were in with their 2 kids, Drew and Alyssa. We all headed to the Oktober fest and had a great time and the rainy weather actually held off while we were there.

Our Happy Girl

Our cutie pie is such a happy girl! She is such a fun baby to watch and play with, such joy from such a little person!

This week Olivia started to finally take a morning nap in her bed. This is something we've tried before but never seemed to work out. Now she has her morning "snack" and goes down for a nap. She did fuss a bit this morning but never went over the edge and eventually fell asleep on her own!

Thursday Jeff and I actually did go out to dinner by our selves, Grandma & Papa watched Olivia and we managed to stay out for 2 whole hours before we headed back! It was a beautiful evening so we went to an Italian restaurant downtown and sat outside, then we and got some ice cream and went on a little drive.

Saturday Olivia and I went to watch Addi play soccer, it was another great day, sunny, warm and a nice breeze. Today it is finally raining and a bit cooler so we'll probably run all our errands later this afternoon.

Here are some of the cute pictures of our babe from this week. Jeff got one of his favorite hats to "fit" her. She loves to take his hat off his head and play with it. She is also playing with her tongue some more, she is too funny to watch!

What does this taste like?

Yesterday Olivia was too funny, she kept playing with her tongue; sticking it out, licking things and blowing raspberrys. Last night before she went to bed she leaned into Jeff's cheek, stuck out her tongue and licked him, it was too funny!

Here she is "tasting" one of her toys, at least it's a strawberry!

September already :-)

It's been a quick two weeks since my last post. Since that time Olivia is starting to sit up for a longer period on her own, although her favorite thing is still to be on the ground rolling around. She does enjoy her jump-a-roo and exersaucer and is starting to stand in the exersaucer, she looks too cute! Her third tooth has finally come in all the way and she is working on number 4! Soon she will have all of her front teeth! She is babbling more and more each day, and dada is still her favorite word. She actually called out to Jeff the other day when he left the room :-)

Last weekend we had a nice labor day cookout with Flip and Jane and this past weekend we had a birthday party for my mom's birthday. Our 13th wedding anniversary is tomorrow and we may actually venture out to dinner by ourselves! This would only be the 2nd time since Livie was born that we go out without her.

Perfect Day for a Picnic

Today is a gorgeous late summer day which feels more like early fall. Nice and sunny, nice breeze and temps in the high 60's. Jeff, Olivia and I decided it was a great day for a picnic! We have a beautiful, large park and open space about 5 minutes away, so we took some sandwiches, and other goodies and off we went!
