Thanksgiving and First Christmas Tree!
On to a happier blog posting...
Olivia's first Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. All of her cousins were in town and she got to play with all of them! She ate some turkey and mashed potatos.
After Thanksgiving she also got her first cold and fever, she was down and out for about three days before her fever broke. The sniffles, sneezing and coughing lasted at least another week and she still has a bit of a cough every once in a while.
We also went out and got our Christmas tree. If you ask her where her Christmas tree is she will look at it and sometimes point. At first she was not too sure about touching the tree, but she soon got over that and thinks it is funny.
We think Olivia may be crawling by Christmas, we'll have to see. She still loves to roll every where but she is getting in the crawling position a bit more now.

Chicken & Stars and Standing
Olivia is growing up so fast, we can't believe she will be 1 in about 6 weeks! WOW time is flying!
She is starting to want to eat more on her own and is trying new foods at least once or twice a week. This week we gave her some chicken & stars soup minus the broth :-). She really enjoyed trying to use the spoon.

She is also wanting to stand more. She can't pull her self up yet, but has started to try on Jeff and I. Here she is leaning against the ottoman. She has 5 teeth now and I finally gave in and gave her bangs another trim. They were so long you couldn't see her eyes and she started to take out what ever I put in her hair.
She is starting to be a real chatter box and is pointing to things around the house and saying "that". She loves to look at the pictures of everyone we have around the house, especially herself! We are now working on giving hugs. She is such a joy, is a pretty happy girl and loves to play with daddy (and mommy)! But daddy has her most of the day and it is fun to listen to the games they play, he has even started to dance with her!
We are looking forward to Thanksgiving next week when cousins from both sides of the family will be in!

Visit with Great G&G
It had been a while since we went to see my grandparents, so last weekend we went for a visit. Olivia showed them how she can sit on her own, play patty cake and "give five".

Last weekend she also figured out how to use her straw cup. She couldn't seem to get the sippy cup down, had to tip it back to far to get anything. She was a wet mess, but figured it out and now drinks her water from it each day. Still can't get her to drink her milk from anything except her bottle, need to start figuring something out for that :-).
I've also included a picture of our old dog...she is getting stuck in various places now and needs help up (or in this case down). She was trying to get on the couch and gave up, laid on the ottoman for a while and then couldn't get down.

Poor girl, she will be 12 this year and has been living with diabetes for about 5 years. She gets around ok, but does have some really bad days.

Pumpkins, Leaves and Sunshine
Yesterday was a beautiful fall day! Upper 70's with sunshine. Jeff has been working on getting the leaves raked in our yard and finally on day 2 we are ready to get them loaded up and out of our yard. Olivia played outside in her exersaucer in the warm sunshine, later in the day I put her in front of one of the piles in the back yard.
Last night we carves our pumpkins, Olivia wasn't too sure of that at first, think she wondered what the heck Daddy was doing to the pumpkin, but once we got a little further into the process she liked watching, and loved watching them glow once the were done!
