Bumps and Bruises

Olivia got her first bruise yesterday and her first bloody lip from falling on her face today. Ahh... the tumbling of a newbie toddler has started. She is starting to pull her self up on things a lot more and fell and swiped her cheek on a small stool she was using to pull up on. Today while sitting on the floor in the kitchen she fell forward flat on her face and busted her lip, a few tears and a bit of blood later, and she was fine and good to go again.

I got this walking toy a few years ago when my nieces were younger, we finally brought it in from outside and gave it a good cleaning. She took a few steps with it before falling and isn't quite sure of what to do yet, but she does love to stand and lean on things so she will figure this out soon I'm sure.

Jeff and Olivia have been playing with the birthday balloons she received. He has them weighted so that they float around the living room. Olivia likes to watch and grab them when they are low enough she can reach them.

Olivia is one today!  We had a little birthday party with both grandparents and Uncle Pete, Aunt Sam and Addi and Chloe. Olivia had a good time! She was a chatter box today, she also showed everyone how she likes to stand and that she can now crawl pretty good (esp. when she sees something she likes).  She had some cake and ice cream, she was not too sure about the cake at first, but once we gave her a spoon she dug right in!

Wow, we can't believe our little girl is one! The year has flown by. She is such a joy to watch grow, she is one happy girl with a very happy Mommy and Daddy who love her very much!

Olivia's First Christmas

Olivia's first Christmas was a great success!  It started with breakfast at our house with Magnaw and Grandpa and Pete, Sam, Addi and Chloe. We had our traditional Christmas breakfast of ham/egg casserole, sausage and potatoe bake, welksnagel and started a new tradition of mamosas.  After breakfast the girls opened some presents and played for a while. Then it was time for a nap! After she woke up we got her dressed and it was off to the 2nd Act of the day. Christmas lunch at Uncle Joe and Aunt Patty's. We had a good time there and got to see family we don't see very often. Around 4:30 we packed up from there and headed to Jeff's parents for our Christmas with them and Olivia got to play with Riley and Emma again! Another late night for Olivia but she did really well all day.  She got up at her normal time today but took a much longer nap this morning. She is a little testy today but hopefully she will recover in time for her 1st Birthday tomorrow!

Our little girl is nestled all snug in her bed and mama and dada are resting after a fun filled Christmas Eve at Gaga and Papa's. Grandma Pat Pat and Charlie were also there along with Aunt Stacy and cousins Riley and Emma. It was present mania!  All had a good time and Olivia is getting some much needed rest for another big day tomorrow!

New Seat

Olivia finally out grew her infant car seat, and after much research, trials and scouring for deals I found one on the car seat I really wanted!

Here she is in her new "big girl" car seat! She looks so proud!
